BEELGARA   ESTATE

Beelgara Estate was established in 2001 when a passionate team of winemakers, growers and wine lovers united to purchase and revitalize the 70 year old winery located in the Riverina.

Interestingly, the name Beelgara (Beel–gar–rah) is derived from Beelbangara, the farming area where the Estate is located whilst the uniquely Australian logo that depicts the Southern Cross bordering the deep-ochre grape illustration, was inspired by the dot paintings of the Aboriginal artists from the Papunya Tula tribes of the Western Desert.

The increasing success of Beelgara Estate results from a dedicated team throughout the company coupled with close relations with our grape growers.

The fact that our Chief Winemaker, James Ceccato, is also the viticulture liaison officer is pivotal in the ongoing quality and success of our wines. The single most important factor in producing exceptional wines is correctly identifying the quality of fruit in the vineyard. To determine this, James works closely with all 45 growers, monitoring the fruit throughout the growing season. Over ripening, berry shrivel and minimal yielding vines are all techniques used by James and our growers to gain the utmost flavour and colour from the fruit.
