A native of Western Australia, Tim moved to South Australia in 1993 to study winemaking at the University of Adelaide. He fell in love with the world of wine and winemaking, and went on
to complete a Honours
degree in Oenology
.
For the next 5 years Tim worked with Southcorp and during that time, he travelled
the country plying his craft in many of the famous wine regions including Coonawarra
(Wynns) and the Barossa Valley (Penfolds)
- refining his winemaking style alongside some of the best winemakers in the
country.
RockBare was borne out of Tim's desire to create his own wine from one of Australia's best viticultural regions,
specialising in Chardonnay and Shiraz.
The home of RockBare is McLaren Vale - "McLaren
Vale produces such
fantastic Shiraz and Chardonnay, why would you want to make anything else here?" The success of RockBare
has been mind-blowing, with critics giving RockBare
the thumbs up on its strength of character and style.
Tim's focus on Chardonnay and Shiraz has developed into
an obsession with the release of RockBare Barossa
Valley Shiraz and RockBare Chardonnay from the
Adelaide Hills.
